Introducing the Reticular activating system – this part of your brain will seek out whatever program you put into it. Think about the last time you were looking for a car?
How many times did you see it on the road. When we were cavemen and women this helped us to find food, shelter etc. Now it seeks out whatever we have on our mind.
So imagine if you put in negative thoughts of failure and things you regret in the past or fear about the future? Your brain is going to look for opportunities to create those experiences because it thinks this is what you REALLY WANT! So make sure you are feeding yourself the right programs. Put some thought into it or should I say put some feeling and intention into it and see what happens.
What programs are you currently feeding to your RAS?
Introducing the Letter to yourself from the future – here is where the integration really starts to happen.
Start by writing a letter from you future self to you in the present moment. It is important not to tell you how things are going to be but from a place of them having already happened. For Example…
Dear Gio,
The last year has been the best of my life… We have really come a long way from where we were a year ago and I cant wait to tell you all about it. (speak to yourself how you might speak to a good friend or family member you haven’t seen in a while)
My relationship with my wife is literally amazing (expand on this)
I get to spend so much more free time with my kids and we love to….
Im working remotely now so I get to travel and live half the year in costa rica….
Both businesses are growing nicely and I have the best team who care about their jobs and are dedicated to helping people…..
I feel totally centered and grounded. I have been meditating daily, keeping up with my daily spiritual practice and also went on 3 incredible trips for myself where I got to really disconnect with the world and go inward…..
I think you get the point. Be really descriptive of each area and make sure you speak to yourself as if it has already happened. You are not telling yourself what you want, or what you are going to do its what you have already done.
Remember always start with feeling first. Then write about the details and everything you’re experiencing. Don’t worry about how long or short it is, the more detail the better, and the more you can feel in each section the better as well.
