Amy Powlen

Amy is an artist, breathwork facilitator, and person in recovery based in Half Moon Bay, California where she lives with her husband and two teenage daughters. Her path into this work began through her own recovery journey. While in active addiction, she was living in survival, feeling disconnected, searching outside of herself for something to feel whole. It wasn’t until she got sober that she experienced a realization that changed everything: the peace, connection, and sense of wholeness she had been seeking had always existed within her, she just didn’t yet have the tools to access it. In the early days of recovery, she began exploring meditation, journaling, and painting, developing a deeper connection to what she now understands as her higher self. Still, she felt there were deeper layers, stored energy in the body that hadn’t yet been reached. Her introduction to breathwork became a turning point, offering a direct and powerful way to move energy, regulate the nervous system, and access deeper states of awareness. Her work continued to evolve through her introduction to Elemental Rhythm Breathwork, where she experienced a profound sense of alignment. She recognized a connection between her recovery, her creative practice, and the elemental themes she had been intuitively exploring in her art. What once felt separate came together as a clear path forward. In addition to her breathwork training, Amy brings nearly three decades of experience as a professional chef and a lifelong dedication to art. Her creative practice has developed into intuitive art and art therapy, where she explores healing through expression, presence, and connection. This background informs how she holds space, grounded, intuitive, and compassionate. Amy’s approach to breathwork is both experiential and integrative. She understands it not only as a technique, but as a bridge between the body and the mind, the physical and the spiritual. Her work supports nervous system regulation, emotional release, and a return to inner connection. Her intention is to create safe, accessible spaces where others can reconnect with themselves, where they can begin to trust their inner guidance, release what no longer serves them, and remember that what they are searching for has been within them all along.

My Services

One on one private breathwork

Private breathwork sessions are a space for you to be fully supported in your own process. Each session is guided one-on-one and tailored to what you need, whether that’s grounding, emotional release, or deeper connection. You are held in a safe and supportive environment where you can slow down, listen inward, and move through your experience with guidance. I am based in the San Francisco Bay Area and offer sessions both online and in person, serving clients throughout the city and the Peninsula.

Group breathwork sessions

Group breathwork sessions are a space to come together in a shared experience of breath and connection. There is something powerful about breathing alongside others, where the collective energy creates a deeper sense of support and openness. These sessions are guided in a safe and supportive environment, allowing you to move energy, release, and reconnect with yourself while feeling held within the group. Sessions are offered both online and in person, with in-person gatherings held in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Virtual breathwork sessions

Virtual breathwork sessions offer a guided experience that is just as supportive and connected as being in person. Even in an online setting, there is a shared energy that develops through breath and presence, allowing you to feel supported and connected throughout the session. Each session is intentionally held in a grounded and prepared space. Before guiding, I take time to center myself through meditation and prayer, and I clear my space using practices such as sage and palo santo. This allows me to show up fully present and create a safe, supportive environment for you to explore your experience. These sessions are designed to help you reconnect with your breath, regulate your nervous system, and move through your experience at your own pace, all from the comfort of your own space.
