Karen Olean

Karen Olean, MAMT, MT-BC, LPC, is a Music therapist with the Veterans Health Administration and serves veterans at the Carl Nunziato CBOC as well as throughout Northeast Ohio in person and virtually. She is a board certified music therapist, who has practiced for the last 9 years, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata University in 2016, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music performance from Westminster College in 2011. Karen is also a licensed professional counselor for the state of Pennsylvania and is a third phase Magnified Healer® and a MARI® (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) Practitioner. Karen has worked with various child and adult populations to help improve their emotional well-being and recover from psychological health conditions by engaging their creative process through music-making. She has provided music therapy to military service members in outpatient as well as a partial hospitalization program and inpatient setting to help them focus on trauma recovery from a holistic approach supporting their mind, body and spirit. Karen is currently offering music therapy to service members experiencing mental health symptoms effecting their process of daily living so they may regain a sense of autonomy and find their purpose in the here and now. Karen’s most recent certification as an Elemental Rhythm® Breathwork Facilitator is something she looks forward to incorporating into the holistic approach she uses as a practitioner. This will encourage grounding and breath support as the centrical part of the healing process of the body, mind, and spirit.
